Master of Religious Education

Master Degree Master of Religious Education in Middle Eastern Studies. This Degree qualifies the student as an instructor in the field of Jewish studies and the Jewish roots of Christianity with a complete understanding of the conception and development of the Judeo-Christian faith.

*** Coursework for the Bachelor/Master of Religious Education degree will not be accepted for teacher certification/licensure in the State of Arkansas.

The five foundational courses in Jewish roots are required for entrance into the Master of Religious Education in Middle Eastern Studies. Students having graduated from the American Institute bachelor program will have already completed these courses and are eligible for enrollment in the master degree. To qualify for the Master of Religious Education in Middle Eastern Studies, a student must be a graduate of the American Institute, or already have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 120 credit hours from an accredited college approved by the American Institute. All students transferring from other schools must enroll in a semester of five foundational courses at the American Institute as a pre- requisite to entering the master’s program. The Master of Religious Education in Middle Eastern Studies Program consists of seventeen three-credit-hour courses, for a total of fifty-one credit hours. These courses will be chosen with the assistance of an American Institute advisor upon entering the program. In addition to the class material, the student is responsible for writing a ten-page paper for each class, as well as a master thesis of at least 130 pages with an emphasis on bibliographical research. All courses listed as a “research course” will not have videos provided. Students are given twelve topics and are required to develop questions from their own research.Degree Requirements
